Leadership Opportunities

At the plc and through the Girls’ Day School Trust we are unique in the endless opportunities for ALL students to gain leadership skills.

Year 12 start the year with a fun and challenging day at Hillingdon Outdoor Activity Centre in which they start to learn skills in leadership and teamwork through physical and intellectual games.

Later in the year all Year 12 students undertake a course to strengthen their leadership skills and to prepare them for the 21st century.

After AS examinations, Leadership Challenge Week is an exceptional opportunity to develop teamwork, entrepreneurship and leadership through a range of stimulating activities. This year students are running the school for a day!

Throughout the Sixth Form there are opportunities to hold positions of responsibility as Prefects and as part of the Head Girl team.  In these roles students have the opportunity to work closely with staff and younger pupils.

The Year 13 House Captains are responsible for the running of whole school House competitions in areas such as Music, Public Speaking and Sport.  They motivate and lead the school in these fun competitive activities.

Through our paired reading and paired maths scheme, the Sixth Form are role models and mentors to younger pupils.

On a Wednesday afternoon our Sixth Formers are Young Leaders in the Community and help in a range of activities throughout the neighbourhood from working in charity shops to teaching ICT to our local senior citizens (LINK TO SILVER SURFERS)

The Sixth Form leads the school through their charity work especially in the Wings of Hope scheme. (LINK TO WINGS OF HOPE)

In Year 13 students are able to attend the GDST Young Leaders Conference.  Last year this was held at Ningbo in China.

Young Enterprise and World Challenge (links) flourish at the plc and the standard is always high!
