Admission to Sixth Form

We welcome new students at Sixth Form level who are admitted on GCSE results and required to sit an entrance examination and are invited for interview with the Head of Sixth Form and other relevant Heads of Departments.

Applications should be made during Year 11. A preliminary discussion with the Head of Sixth Form is arranged as early as possible, in order to discuss the candidate's likely preferred choices of AS and A2-Level subjects.

Offers of places in the Sixth Form are conditional on GCSE results. All students are normally expected to gain at least an A or B grade in the subjects to be studied at AS-Level but each case would be judged on its own merits. You may choose a maximum of two subjects at AS that you have not previously studied at GCSE. Please contact us for specific entry requirements for each subject.

Candidates wishing to apply for a Sixth Form scholarship will need to sit the scholarship examinations, which are held in the Autumn Term and are open to external candidates. Candidates will be required to sit scholarship papers in two of the subjects they wish to study at AS-Level. Interviews may also be held.

Full details of examination dates and application forms can be obtained from the Admissions Secretary by submitting an enquiry online:
