CareerStart is a unique programme of interactive seminars developed specifically for students in Girls' Day School Trust (GDST) schools.
The purpose is to offer these young women, through Minerva, training in generic, transferable career and business skills to complement and extend their academic and extra-curricular experience.
We believe that CareerStart is quite different from anything that is offered anywhere in the UK secondary system. The objective of CareerStart is to help prepare GDST students, post-GCSE through the Sixth Form, for life and relationships in higher education, the workplace and the world beyond.
It helps students achieve that all-important competitive edge when applying for university, searching for work placements and Gap Year opportunities and will ultimately prepare them for careers and professional life.
The training modules cover areas above and beyond the school curriculum and provide a memorable learning experience.
In the Sixth Form we offer:
- Interview & Presentation Skills (Year 13)
- Financial Planning (in association with HSBC) (Year 13)
