The Sixth Form at plc is a vibrant and dynamic experience and we provide many opportunities for our students to complement their academic studies with activities designed to broaden their experience and give them a taste of life outside school.
Activities include:
Hillingdon Outdoor Activities Centre (HOAC)
All Year 12 students are taken to HOAC for a day of problem solving and team building tasks.
GDST CareerStart Workshops
Skills based workshops delivered by outside speakers.
Young Enterprise Scheme
Throughout the first two terms, a new company is born, grows, succeeds and is wound up.
This opportunity to work together, overcome difficulties and learn something of the world of business is probably the biggest extra-curricular activity apart from sport. It generates a real sense of achievement and allows girls to learn much about themselves and others.
World Challenge
Students have the opportunity to organise a month long trip to exotic locations such as Costa Rica and Mongolia.
Community Sports Leaders Award
Students have the opportunity to qualify for this award through working in the PE department and helping in the community.
Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
Students continue with their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and by the Sixth Form most students take their silver or gold awards. Some students decide in Year 12 to start directly with the gold award.
Clubs and Activities
There is a wealth of opportunities available for students to take part in. Any student can start a club of their choosing. Clubs range from Cricket to Debating Society. The school choir is very popular and students are encouraged to perform in our regular Chamber concerts and at Festivals such as the Watford Festival.
Students run junior clubs and societies and help to produce the School Magazine. Students also have the opportunity to debate topics with Hatch End High School.
