Year 12 have the opportunity to gain their Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership which is a nationally recognised qualification that enables successful candidates to independently lead small groups of people in sport and recreational activities. The qualification teaches generic leadership skills such as organisation, planning, communication and teamwork through the medium of sport. It is a fun and practical qualification with no entrance requirements or final examinations to sit.
Year 12 and 13 make use of the school sporting facilities in their private study periods. This includes the fitness suite, swimming pool, tennis courts and field. They also compete in netball and lacrosse fixtures in the Autumn and Spring term with fixtures and tournament after school at the weekend. Many Sixth Formers have gained their RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and use this qualification to work in the Heathfield Sports Club after school and at weekends. The Sixth Form also help with PE lessons throughout the school.
